They're having a baby!

And we couldn't be happier! Avery's getting a cousin sometime in October! We were all in town for my sister's baby shower and I snapped a few pregnancy shots ahead of time. I can't wait to meet my niece though I may not get down there til the holidays (work is keeping me busy with travelling this year). But a two month old will be fun to photograph! Congratulations again; love ya!

It is really hard to imagine that I was a) going to give birth in just 2.5 weeks and b) Avery will be turning one soon. Though she is always my baby; she'll soon be a toddler! Sniff sniff . . . where does the time go?

36.5 weeks or the week before!!!

This post is written after the fact - you'll see why given the title . . . here are some pics the week before baby arrives; above I am lounging outside on a cooler evening and below before a wedding. I had to run out the day before and buy a new dress on account of the previously selected dress no longer fitting!!!

Date Night

Probably one of the last few times we'll have date night as a family of 2. We decided to go to our 2 favorite places downtown: Sofitel bar for drinks beforehand (I had club soda w/ lime) and Pietros for pizza. It wasn't a late night since I get tired early so we came home to watch a movie. But it was a perfect night!

34.5 Weeks!

Today we hit 101 degrees; very unusual for this time of year. Here I am trying to remain cool. We did manage to go swimming in the afternoon which baby loves!!!

Introducing the HandelMeter

As the countdown gets closer to the due date (at press 6.5 weeks to go), our trips to Handel's Ice Cream shop have increased in frequency. At times Scott has sped the vehicle to get there with 3 min to closing; other times we waited in line after they turned the lights off in the shop (it is a rather popular place and until school lets out they are only open until 9pm). The staff are getting to know me by now and I continuously try new flavors. I am debating getting the pineapple sherbet next time in a Sprite float - only if it's diet though, I don't want to take in too much sugar. Or I may bring my own diet Sprite, not sure. Note at time of this initial post Scott is matching me scoop for scoop. Fortunately for me, I'll shed some of the ice cream in a few weeks with only a day and night's hard work. Scott will most likely have to work harder. Well there is that gym membership to the Y we have . . .

32 Weeks

Baby loved her first taste of salty air!! I think we may have a beach baby!! More updates to come as the nursery finally takes shape.

31 Weeks

Our final ultrasound at 31 weeks!! Everything looks great!! The countdown begins!! She was shy this morning but gave us a nice big footprint! At 4lbs 2oz she's on her way! Now if I could just say that about

the nursery . . . ~ R

Baby Shower Part 1

My sisters and mom threw a beautiful high noon tea inspired baby shower! We had scones, tea sandwiches, petite fours, fruit salad, hot and iced tea. During gifts, my sisters kept everyone guessing w/ trivia questions about me when I was a baby. The afternoon ended w/ a black forest cake from my favorite bakery and they announced the winner who guessed the amount of change in our baby's first piggy bank! The kindness, love and well wishes from family & friends will always be remembered! The baby must have had loads of fun as well because she kept me up all night long w/ kicks, rolls, and kisses. She can't wait to come here, she is so excited to meet everyone! xoxo

Week 28

Here are some week 28 belly shots! Whew - it feels good to be in the 3rd trimester and in the home stretch!! The baby seems to prefer Miss Viv, the giraffe (a recent gift from Scott on his out of town travels). She gets a "kick" out of it every time we put the giraffe on my belly. A note about the shots: we used our new DSLR Canon Rebel XTi w/ f/1 50mm lens. Only one word to describe it: Awesome!! Happy Spring!!

Belly Shot! 23 weeks!

Here we are at 23 weeks! Very happy that next week will be the 24 week milestone! Only +/- 16 weeks to go! Today we ordered a crib and our bedding came in!
