First Hair cut!

In the beginning there was unhappiness. I don't think she liked the cape.

There were many tears shed.

Then she realized that it was just hair and it would grow back, eventually.

Not what I'd call a "sassy diva" but we managed okay. She got a lollipop, certificate, some of her locks of curls (!!!), and a picture (or 2 by me). She loved all the goodies in the store, so I think we'll be back. Thanks Sweet n Sassy (Exton, Pa)!!

So eager.

She was so eager this morning to leave the house, which is no different than any other morning. She took the lunch bag all by herself and kept on trucking. It was so cool this morning so the first day of Malvern School outfit did not go as planned. But aren't the Mary Janes so cute? I shed a tear but according to Jenny, her teacher, the day has gone smooth with only a few fusses on Avery's part. I wonder if she'll be this eager tomorrow? Please do not tell me they grow up so fast.

One Year Ago . . .

It is really hard to imagine that I was a) going to give birth in just 2.5 weeks and b) Avery will be turning one soon. Though she is always my baby; she'll soon be a toddler! Sniff sniff . . . where does the time go?

Me at 10 Months

At 10 months; I've added peek-a-boo to my repetoire (compliments of Gma & Gpa). I enjoy eating sweet potato fries, couscous & pancakes. I think I like carbs . . . I take a bath with a ton of toys. I enjoy a good cry every now and then and the new latches on the kitchen cabinets stump me; the drawers I still have access to. I am doing the stairs now, when no one is watching, since I travel at lightning speed to my destinations. Here I am stretching with my favorite music blocks previously featured under the couch:

Eating grilled cheese!

Good times!

This was taken 2 weeks ago; we finally got around to uploading it. We were cracking up in the background! Now she's a pro at standing in her crib :) Avoiding sleeping ofcourse!

9 Months

Happy 9 Months!!!!

One of Avery's newest most favorite things is getting into our stuff!! We've moved beyond scooting to crawling and pulling up. Anything at floor level is game. I found this in her mouth
yesterday. It's the next advertisement for Canon!

Today she discovered our wireless router behind the TV. The blinking lights attracted her. A few blocks from me and she gave up. Now if it was paper she would not have given up so easily. Notice the war wound on her forehead. There is alot more of that these days.

This week she's had small pieces of watermelon, chunks of banana and bits of chicken/stars/carrots in a veggie puree. She loves it all and does not want to go back to puree solo.

I continue to think the world revolves around Avery! At the Y today, someone asked me where I got my pants. I replied "Gymboree!" Ofcourse she was asking about my workout pants!

8 Months

Where am I at 8mos?
* pincher grasp on both hands :)

* eat out at a fancier restaurant {than chick-fil-a}

* a lot of spitting
* eat chunky, textured bananas!

* get into into trouble & devour paper :)

Sitting Pretty

I won't lie, it's been a difficult week for everyone. Transitional time for the whole family with me going back to work, emotional struggle for my friend {previous post}, myself, and my mom group, and the weather is just making it difficult to get anything done. Here are some shots I took this week. The first one is done w/ an urban action from coffeeshop's color pop found Here. The second 2 have Mindy's Lights action applied. With Avery's new found skill in sitting up this is ALL she wants to do lately; that and eat paper - the obsession continues! So we play with blocks, stack them so she can knock them down. And we read books - alot. It's one of her favorite past times since she likes to turn the pages. I know Mouse Cookie by heart :) And she's gotten lots of extra hugs & kisses this week; it's been well deserved and needed. She'll be back to posting soon; she's just too busy sitting up to be bothered.

Paper Party

Ever since Christmas and Avery's first experience with wrapping paper she has been mildly enthralled by all sorts of paper around the house. She loves it all!! We can no longer read the newspaper, magazines, mail, church bulletins etc in front of her because she immediately wants it {she wants everything in our hands}. The other day she was playing on daddy's lap but really she was trying to get some extended leverage by bouncing ever so close to the magazine I was reading! Clever duck!!! This is a picture of what happens when she get's a hold of that paper!! Too funny!!

• sitting up "almost" alone
• growing hair on my head
• like looking at pictures of other babies
• rolling over
• "swimming" on tummy
• teething considerably
• reaching & holding everything
• eating paper
• screeching & "talking up a storm"
• playing "where's daddy?"
• laughing when mommy says "whoops!"

Here are some of my near future plans: swim lessons, eating cheerios & yogurt, crawling, getting into everything, and just being my wonderful self!

At 6mos - Avery's Current PlayToys

Here are my favorite playtoys!! At 6mos I still need help w/ some of them ie the shape sorter & ring stacker. But mom put the tower of cubes right next to my feet and I kick them down. I love it. We also read up to 7 board books a day. I help turn the pages!! Look for videos soon!! Peace & love to all! xoxo Avery

Aunt Jen came to visit and I was showing off on my activity mat! The elephant is still my favorite since mom can pull the cord and it comes down. The giraffe is okay and I still haven't figured out why the parrot is upside down. Look, Jen, I can grasp the rings!!
